General Information

Haines Borough School District serves students from kindergarten through 12th grade in a close-knit learning community. Haines Elementary School (K–5), Middle School (6-8), and High School (6–12) share one building. The district also offers the Haines Home School for families seeking a different approach to learning. Enrollment typically ranges from 225 to 260 students, giving teachers and staff the opportunity to know students as individuals.

Across grade levels, our students learn from staff with a wide range of knowledge and experience. They explore core subjects, discover new interests through classes and activities, and build relationships with classmates of different ages. The people and cultures of Haines enrich our schools and help make our district a welcoming place to learn and grow.

Technology supports learning throughout the district. High school students are provided laptops, students in grades 3–8 have access to laptops for classroom use.
